Help Out!
LeafsHQ needs content creators, contributors, and general tidbits thrown at us. Here’s some further detail on that.
Writers: We definitely need writers. Particularly for opinion pieces, where you can write about anything remotely tied to the Leafs that you want, without having to worry about keeping topic continuity going. I’m already good when it comes to most of the frequent features, so thats what I need most. However, I do need people for two sections: I need a Marlies writer, though I think I know who to go to on this one, and I no doubt need someone who’s really into prospects. I could hack together decent prospect articles, but I want someone who really really knows what they’re talking about. Even if you don’t, but believe you do, I need that belief, as right or wrong it will lead to a well written article.
Guest Writers: Yes, you people with your own Leafs blogs, I’m looking for you too. You give me some content, and you can more than happily whore the heck out of your site in the same entry.
Video Bloggers: Anyone who does video blogs related to the Leafs fits this description, no doubt. I’m actually not even looking for you guys to even acknowledge LeafsHQ in any way (though that would be a plus). Heck, you don’t even have to do anything other than give me a link to your youtube profile and permission to post them here in your name. I’m just looking for that permission. Obviously, I could put everyone’s in if I wanted to, but this seems like the better way.
Any other Creative Types: I’m thinking more graphic makers here for wallpapers, avatars, signatures, stuff like that. Also, anything else you can whip up – the possibility are endless and I’m too lazy to list anymore.
If you’re interested in any of these, either DM/Reply on Twitter to @LeafsHQ, email me (jeff@leafshq.com), leave a comment in here (fill out the email option if you’re reading this on LeafsHQ itself), or send me a message on Facebook.
Now, if that stuff isn’t your thing, thats fine. You could still help out.
Submit to the Mailbag: The Mailbag is a feature I plan to do twice a week, where I take in questions, comments, or anything from whoever sends them in and reply to them. You can send in your stuff by sending me a private message on the LeafsHQ forums, firing off an email to mailbag@leafshq.com, replying or direct messaging LeafsHQ on twitter, or by cornering me in a dark alley only to hand me an envelope filled with your thoughts. Up to you.
Send me Videos and Photos: Preferably game footage for the videos, user content, as I said above, I want the actual users to send in preferably. Pictures, email me anything related to the Leafs. From game shots that you’ve taken, to your pet turtle wearing a makeshift jersey, to a cool pic from a few years back that you found on google images. Just send it in, same way as with the mailbag, though preferably if you’re going to use email, use jeff@leafshq.com so I can separate mailbag questions from this stuff.
Send me Articles: Though I’m going to try to keep up with them as well as I can for the daily roundups, if you stumble upon something interesting, whether it be from TSN or some other Leafs blog, fire away. Rumors too, even they’re of Eklund-quality. See above for the contact info, again.
Join the Forums: We could always use people actually talking. Register here, or click here to just go straight there and take a look first. (NOTE: Its probably empty if you’re reading this on January 21st).
Link Exchanges: If you have a Leafs, heck, any hockey blog, get a hold of me. We’ll exchange links, which should work out for both parties.
I think this about covers what I’m looking for right now. If you meet ANY of these descriptions, get a hold of us. Seriously. Like, get a hold of us yesterday.

My Five Outrageous Predictions

Well, its late July. Nobody’s signing contracts, and training camp hasn’t started yet. The fascination with rookie camp is at its low point until it begins its merger with training camp hype, and there are no decent players that are rumored to be on the market (like, legitimate rumors, not the “OMG GUY ISN’T SIGNED
The league will dread Toronto’s D!

I look at the Leafs roster for the upcoming season, and I cant help but feeling somewhat optimistic. I really do like what Brian Burke has done with the team so far with the addition of Versteeg, and Armstrong. But the reason I have optimism isn’t just those signings, it is the blueline that we
Kris Versteeg’s Day With the Cup
about 2 weeks ago - 1 comment
Is it a bad omen to have a member of the Leafs partying with the Cup during a drought this long? Probably, but who cares, because Kris Versteeg is a fierce warror from Honeysuckle and Larkspur who has the magic inside of him. Continue reading to find out what the hell I’m talking about. Did
A Game Of Kovalchuk

As much as this isn’t directly related to the Leafs anymore, it still kind of is. Ilya Kovalchuk is a fantastic hockey player. Wait, let me rephrase that, Ilya Kovalchuk is a great offensive hockey player and a superstar goalscorer. In his 8 NHL seasons and 621 games played, the tallied 338 goals and 304
Defending Burke and the Kessel Trade! Part 3 of 3

First off, I apologize that it took me so long to get to my 3rd article, just didn’t have that much time to write it properly, as I was out of town last weekend, and this week was quite the hectic week. Thank you for being patient! Now, you already know that the first two
Five Hole For Food Is Tommorrow!

Theoretically, I could be like every other blog there is regarding the Leafs right now, and talk about free agency, but other than this first paragraph my reasoning, I won’t. Straight up, the topic has been right now is akin to beating a dead horse, except the horse has already decayed and is now just
15* Players That People Should Stop Caring About

This is more of a personal tangent than anything, I’m not going to lie. This isn’t really something that goes in the media (though it kind of does), and it sure as heck isn’t happening in actually front office trade/signing discussions, but its a phenomenon that you definitely see throughout the internet, and that’s fan
Kaberle traded for State of Minnesota
about 1 month ago - 2 comments
Tomas Kaberle, the only player on the Toronto Maple Leafs with more than two years spent playing for the team, has been traded to the United States of America for the entire State of Minnesota. Kaberle, along with throw-in and Toronto Marlies team Captain Ben Ondrus, are heading to the North American nation in exchange
Mythbusting Truculence
about 1 month ago - 3 comments
“We require, as a team, proper levels of pugnacity, testosterone, truculence and belligerence. … That’s an important part of how my teams play,” In what is probably his most well known quote to date, Brian Burke found a quasi-politically correct way of saying “I want my team to fight more”. There is an obvious spike
MHQ: The Ongoing Battle Of The Netminders

Regardless of the fact that there isn’t much news in the world of the Marlies as of late, I decided to put up a comparison between the Leafs 3 major goaltending prospects (Reimer, Rynnas, and Scrivens), in hopes to decide who plays in Ricoh, and who plays for the Reading Royals next year.
